Over 333 billion VND invested to develop central rural areas

The central province of Phu Yen is carrying out the second phase of the Integrated Rural Development Sector Project in Central Provinces with an investment of 333 billion USD (15.5 million USD) sourced though loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and corresponding provincial capital.

The locality is carrying out foursub-projects, including upgrading a 19.5-kilometre irrigational systemand 24.5-kilometre embankment road; building a 9.1-kilometre road andanti-salinity dyke in An Cu, An Hiep and An Hoa communes and upgradingSuoi Coi dam.

The projects aims to improve resident livelihoodsthrough enhancing access to agricultural infrastructure, creating jobopportunities and reducing natural disaster impacts.

Earlier, theADB and the French Agency for Development (AFD) provided loans worthover 202 billion VND (9.4 million USD) to the province to improveagricultural infrastructure, contributing to the locality’simplementation of the National Target Programme on building new-stylerural areas.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
