Over 3,200 COVID-19 cases added to national tally on early August 2

The Ministry of Health reported 3,201 new infections of COVID-19, including 3 imported cases, from 6:30 pm on August 1 to 6am on August 2, bringing the national count to 157,507.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Health reported 3,201new infections of COVID-19, including 3 imported cases, from 6:30 pm on August1 to 6am on August 2, bringing the national count to 157,507.

Ho Chi Minh City, the country's biggest epidemic hotspot,logged 1,997 new cases, followed by Binh Duong (496), Dong Nai (189), Can Tho(119), Tien Giang (79), Da Nang (76), Vinh Long (50), Hanoi (46), Binh Thuan (46),An Giang (17), Kien Giang (17), Binh Dinh (14), Ninh Binh (13), Dong Thap (11),Dak Nong (10), Nghe An (8), Thanh Hoa (4), Ha Tinh (3), Lam Dong (2), Gia Lai(1).

Of the total domestic cases, 976 were detected in thecommunity, and the remaining in quarantined facilities or areas under lockdown.

As of August 2 morning, Vietnam posted 2,265 imported and 155,242domestic infections.

A total of 43,157 patients were given the all-clear. Among thoseunder treatment, 432 are being cared for in ICU, while 18 patients are incritical condition and being treated with ECMO.

The number of infections during the new pandemic wave thatbegan in the country on April 27 reached 153,672, with 40,383 patients havingrecovered.

A total of 6,415,219  COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administeredin the country so far, with 659,064 people getting full two shots./.

Hanoi tightens control, prevention of monkeypox
