Theprojects are mainly in building infrastructure for transport connection, industrialparks and residential areas; along with in other areas like agriculture, industry,river protection and waste treatment.
HCM City hassigned cooperation agreements with 13 Mekong Delta localities to help themfully tap investment resources and promote their advantages in thesocio-economic development, said Vice Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee Tran Vinh Tuyen.
Thecooperation also aims to offer more chances for investment market expansion andenhancement of human resources capacity, meeting local demands onsocio-economic development.
Inimplementing the Government’s Resolution 120/NQ-CP on sustainable developmentof the Mekong Delta in response toclimate change, HCMCity has devised a plan on the development of a meteorological and hydrologicalnetwork. The city has also worked to increase the use of renewable and newenergy, and joined hands with surrounding provinces to share data andinformation on water pollution risks.
Someworks of transport infrastructure linking HCM City with Mekong Delta localitieshave been put into operation, particularly the HCM City-Trung Luong expressway.
The cityis calling for more investment for HCM City Ring Roads No.3 and No.4, whichwill connect the city, other southeastern provinces with the Mekong Delta.
Atpresent, nearly 90 percent of goods to the Mekong Delta via sea route, with 80percent of them being transported through ports in the southeastern region.-VNA
