OV pupils start new school year in Cambodia

Overseas Vietnamese pupils at Khmer–Vietnam Tan Tien primary school started their 2013-2014 school year in Phnom Penh on October 14.

Nearly 300 Vietnamese pupils are registered at the school. Thoughparts of its facilities have closed due to the recent flooding, theschool is doing all it can to offer pupils the best school curriculum asscheduled.

Addressing the school opening, VietnameseAmbassador Ngo Anh Dung said besides the Vietnamese language, theVietnamese children should also pay attention to learning Khmer andsubjects as in other Cambodian schools so that they can easily integrateinto the host society.

On the occasion, Ambassador Dungpresented scholarships to four outstanding overseas Vietnamese studentsin Cambodian universities and bicycles to five pupils at Tan Tienschool.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia and Bank forInvestment and Development of Cambodia also took the occasion to grantgifts to excellent pupils.-VNA

Bac Lieu, Korean locality sign labour cooperation agreement

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
