Tokyo (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held a ceremony onDecember 10 to honour Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in JapanTran Ngoc Phuc and Professor Tran Van Tho who had received the host country’snoble awards.
Specifically, in Maythis year, Professor Tho, who has been a member of Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc’s Economic Advisory Group since 2017 and a professor of economics atWaseda University in Tokyo since 2000, was awarded the Japanese Emperor’s Orderof the Sacred Treasure: Gold Rays, in recognition of his contributions todeveloping economic relations between Japan and Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Phucreceived the Japanese Government’s Order of the Rising Sun: Silver Rays inNovember, thanks to his contributions to Japan’s development as well as therelations between Japan Vietnam.
Addressing theceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Hong Nam said that Vietnam and Japan arecelebrating the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties this year. The yearalso witnesses the success of the Vietnamese community in Japan, with twoVietnamese nationals receiving the country’s noble awards.
Leader of the KomeitoParty of Japan Natsuo Yamaguchi congratulated the successes of the Vietnamesecommunity in Japan and expressed his delight at fine development in thebilateral relations
Phuc appreciated theattention the Vietnamese Embassy has paid to the Vietnamese community in Japan.
Strong development inbilateral ties and the care of the embassy will encourage many Vietnamese inJapan to exert their efforts to contribute to Japan as well as the twocountries’ relations, he said. –VNA
