Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded one new importedcase of COVID-19 over the last 12 hours, bringing the national total to 1,099,the national steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control said onOctober 7 evening.

The 28-year-old woman returned from Australia onFlight QH89 on September 23 and was sent to the concentrated quarantine centreof Can Tho city upon her arrival.

Of the total case, 691 infected the coronavirusSARS-CoV-2 domestically, with 551 reported since July 25, when the new outbreakbegan.

October 7 also marks the 35th straight daywithout community transmission of COVID-19 in the country.

As many as 1,023 patients have recovered while35 have succumbed to the disease.

Five of those still under treatment have testednegative for the virus once, eight others twice, and five thrice, according tothe treatment sub-committee.

There are now 14,550 people having close contactwith confirmed cases or coming from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine,including 261 in hospitals, 11,817 in other quarantine sites, and 2,472 at homeor accommodation facilities./.
