Jakarta (VNA) – At least one person died and 12 otherswent missing as an overloaded wooden boat capsized in a river in WestKalimantan province of central Indonesia on January 21.
According to Suhri Sinaga, spokesperson of National Search and Rescue Agency, theincident occurred when the passenger boat carrying 24 people suddenly capsizedwhen attempting to cross Kapuan River in Naga Seberuang village of Kapuas Huludistrict.
Eleven people have been rescued, he said, adding that search and rescue for themissing persons are underway.
