Northwest international trade fair to open next week

The International Trade Fair of the Northwest Region is scheduled to begin on March 30 at the May 5 Square in Dien Bien Phu city, the northwestern province of Dien Bien.

Dien Bien (VNA) – The International Trade Fair ofthe Northwest Region is scheduled to begin on March 30 at the May 7 Square inDien Bien Phu city, the northwestern province of Dien Bien.

The expo, which will run through May 5, will feature 270stalls displaying mechanic equipment, machinery, agricultural products, andhandicrafts, among others.

Vietnamese enterprises will be joined by their peers fromLaos, Thailand and China at the event.

Vu Hong Son, Vice Director of the provincial Department ofIndustry and Trade, said the fair aims to promote local social-economicdevelopment and opportunities for investment cooperation, as well as to helpexpand trade between Vietnamese provinces and localities from northern Laos,northern Thailand and China’s Yunnan province.     
Vietnam’s mountainous northwest region consists of DienBien, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Son La, and Yen Bai provinces. –VNA
