Noble State title granted to Phu Tho women

Authorities from northern Phu Tho province on February 1 presented the noble State title “Vietnamese heroic mother” to 271 women who made remarkable contributions to the cause of national construction, liberation and development.

Forty-seven of therecipients are still alive. The recognition came in celebration of the85 th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) onFebruary 3.

Phu Tho is home to 733 Vietnamese heroicmothers, said Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Chu NgocAnh, who also recounted that over 18,000 locals laid down their livesand 11,593 become invalid during the country’s wars of resistance.

He called on organisations, businesses, donators and individuals toraise funds for building houses for the beneficiaries as well as helpingthem fully benefit from the social welfare policies.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
