No Vietnamese casualties have been reported after the latest violent clashes in Ukraine, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed.

Violence has increased in recent daysas anti-government protestors have fought with police on the streets,leaving many dead.

There are about 10,000 Vietnamesenationals residing in the European country, mainly in the major citiesof Kharkov, Odessa, Kiev, Donetsk and Kherson, according to theministry.

When the violence escalated, the foreign ministryasked the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine to inform Vietnamesecommunities of unsecure places to avoid.

The embassy is closely following the situation to protect Vietnamese citizens.
