Hanoi (VNA) – No new COVID-19 infection cases werereported on May 9 afternoon, according to the Ministry of Health.

It means Vietnam has recorded no new COVID-19 infections in thecommunity since 6:00 on April 16.

The country has so far confirmed 288 infection cases, including148 imported ones who were quarantined right after their arrival.

As many as 14,403 people who had close contact with confirmedpatients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions have been kept underquarantine, including 175 at hospitals, 6,145 at other establishments and 8,083at home.

Of the patients undergoing treatment, four tested negative forthe novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once and 13 others tested negative twice ormore./.
