Nine-month export value grows 19.8 percent

Hanoi (VNA) – Totalimport-export value was estimated to reach 308.51 billion USD in the first ninemonths of 2017, up 21.4 percent from last year, according to the GeneralDepartment of Vietnam Customs.

Of the sum, export revenue was worth 154.03billion USD and import value amounted to 154.48 billion USD, annual increasesof 19.8 percent and 23.1 percent, respectively.

All key export commodities recorded ahigher turnover during the period.

The phones and components category broughtin about 30.99 billion USD, up 21.4 percent year on year.

Apparel reeled in 19.26 billion USD, whileexported aquatic product value amounted to 5.96 billion USD. The figures were8.6 percent and 19.2 percent higher than the same period last year,respectively.  

In September alone, trade value wasestimated to hit 37.6 billion USD, a slight decrease of 0.9 percent from August,with export turnover dropping 3.9 percent to 19 billion USD. Meanwhile, importsduring the month rose 2.3 percent to 18.6 billion USD, resulting in a tradesurplus of 400 million USD. -VNA
