Nghe An (VNA) – Nearly 30students from Vinh University in the central province of Nghe An will performvoluntary activities in Xiangkhouangprovince of Laos from July 6-30.
The students plan to carry outvarious activities, including teaching the Vietnamese language and computerskills, transferring technological advances to locals, and providingconsultancy for Lao students, who wish to study in Vietnam, particularly at VinhUniversity.
The university’s students haveconducted summer voluntary campaigns in Laos since 2007.
In addition, the university hasalso set up 30 groups with nearly 600 students to conduct voluntary activitiesin Nghe An’s disadvantaged mountainous districts, such as Que Phong, Ky Son,Tuong Duong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop and Con Cuong.
Their missions began on July 3,with activities at the Vinh SOS Children's Village – a home for orphaned andabandoned children, building rural roads and joining environmental protectioncampaigns.-VNA
