Newly-established businesses up 19.3 percent

As many as 37,315 businesses were established in the first half of 2014 with a total registered capital of 230,924 billion VND, up 19.3 percent from the same period in 2013, the Government news portal reported.

Some33,454 businesses were dissolved or suspended operations in the firsthalf, up 16.5 percent. The number of enterprises resuming operationreached 8,322.

Regarding business structure, in the first half,those involved agriculture, forestry and aquaculture saw a rise of 27.5percent, real estate 38.7 percent, logistics 62.6 percent and finance,banking and insurance 14.9 percent.

Most of the new businessesare located in Ho Chi Minh City (up 14.8 percent), Hanoi (up 16.2percent), Thai Binh province (up 32,3 percent), Cao Bang province (up133.3 percent) and Thanh Hoa province (up 16.6 percent).-VNA
