Last year, Sanofi Indochina conducted preliminary research on thevaccine which can prevent from 64.7 percent to 89.5 percent of cases of dengue feverafter exposure.
The third-phase clinical experimentshowed that 60-80 percent of those vaccinated had fewer complications orrisks caused by mosquito bites, he said.
For thefirst five months of this year, Vietnam recorded nearly 11,400 casesof dengue fever, 10 of which were fatal.
Dengue has been present in more than 100 countries and territories worldwide over the past 50 years.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), an estimated 50-100 million cases occur each year.-VNA
