Dong Nai (VNA) - Nestlé, the world’s largest food andbeverage company, inaugurated a new NESCAFÉ DolceGusto capsuleproduction line in the southern province of Dong Nai on July 19.
The plant is expected to process 130 million capsules from 2,500 tonnes ofVietnamese coffee per year, and the volume is expected to increase in thecoming years.
Togetherwith Nescafe instant coffee and decaffeinated coffee processed at Nestlefactories in Vietnam, the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto output from NestleTri An factory will up the volume of Vietnamese coffee passing through Nestleproduction lines in the country, a great boost for the sector.
Some 90 percent of the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto output from theplant will be exported to Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, HongKong, Taiwan (China) and Indonesia.
According to Le Van Danh, deputy head of the Dong Nai Industrial ZoneAuthority, Nestle is one of the first investors in the locality, and theproduction of Nescafe Dolce Gusto capsules affirms the company’s efforts inincreasing the value of Vietnamese coffee through production, processing andexporting.
Ganesan Ampalavanar, Managing Director of Nestlé Vietnamsaid: "The new NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto production line will help make greatcoffee widely accessible to Vietnamese consumers and to 13 export markets.Moreover, the new production line reaffirms Nestlé Vietnam's commitment toadding value to and developing this Vietnam's coffee industry."
At the event, local authorities presented a certificate of merit to the companyfor its contributions to the province over the years.
Swiss firm Nestle currently has six plants in Vietnam with more than 2,500employees.-VNA
