Six COVID-19 vaccines are being used in Laos and the country has begun vaccinating children aged 12-17 in a bid to promptly reopen schools nationwide after a long time of closure due to the negative impacts of COVID-19.
More than 3.6 million people in Laos have to date received the first jab, and over 3 million have been fully inoculated, or nearly 42 percent of the country’s population.
Vientiane capital posted the highest vaccination rate of 90 percent.
Laos reported 1,323 new COVID-19 infections and four fatalities in the past 24 hours, announced the Health Ministry on November 23.
The daily caseload rose again after two days of decline. Of the new cases, only five were imported ones, while others logged across 17 localities.
The national tally reached 64,482, with 137 deaths./.
