Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 350 Vietnamese citizens in the United Arab Emirates(UAE) and India were carried to the homeland in a flight conducted by nationalflag carrier Vietnam Airlines on December 7-8.
On the repatriation flight, which was arranged by relevant agencies of Vietnamand the two countries, and the airlines, were children aged below 18, theelderly, pregnant women, workers with expired visa and labourcontracts, and other especiallydisadvantaged cases.
Safety and preventive measures against COVID-19 were rigorously enforced duringthe flight to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of thedisease.
All passengers and crew members received medical checkups and were sent toquarantine in line with regulations upon their arrival at Cam Ranhinternational airport.
The repatriation of Vietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances abroad will be continuedin line with citizens’ wishes, the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, and quarantine capacity in the homeland./.
