Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 280 Vietnamese citizens inSaudi Arabia have been brought home safely on a flight operated by BambooAirways.
Passengers on the flight, arranged over December 5 and 6 byVietnamese and Saudi Arabian agencies, included under-18 children and workerswith expired visas or labour contracts along with those in special disadvantagedcircumstances.
The Vietnamese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the staff at theVietnamese embassy were present at the airport to help the citizens withboarding procedures.
To ensure the passengers’ health and prevent the spread ofCOVID-19, Bamboo Airways strictly followed security, safety andepidemiological hygiene measures throughout the flight.
Immediately after the flight landed at Van Don airport in thenorthern province of Quang Ninh, the crew and passengers received healthchecks and were sent to quarantine in line with regulations.
Therepatriation of Vietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances willcontinue to be conducted according to citizens’ wish and based on thepandemic’s development and domestic quarantine capacity./.
