Nearly 2,000 people join blood donation drive in Thanh Hoa

Nearly 2,000 officials, cadres, youths and public security officers joined the annual 13th Red Sunday – a voluntary blood donation drive, in the central province of Thanh Hoa on December 13.

 Thanh Hoa (VNA) – Nearly 2,000 officials, cadres,youths and public security officers joined the annual 13th Red Sunday –a voluntary blood donation drive, in the central province of Thanh Hoa onDecember 13.

The activity was jointly held by the National Traffic SafetyCommittee, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and TienPhong (Vanguard) newspaper in cities and provinces nationwide.

In the near future, the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union(HCYU) will urge officials, youth union members and students to spread theeffort and play a vanguard role in blood donation movements.

On the occasion, the provincial HCYU presented certificates ofmerit to nine individuals and seven collectives in honour of their contributionsto the voluntary blood donation movement./.
