Nation’s best farmers honoured

Ten most outstanding farmers in the country were presented the “2009 Farming Genie” prize at a ceremony in Hanoi on Jan. 31.
Ten most outstanding farmers in the country were presented the “2009 FarmingGenie” prize at a ceremony in Hanoi on Jan. 31.

The awardees representingover 50 million farmers nationwide have production models that bring higheconomic values.

They include Do Quy Hao from southern Kien Giangprovince, who was successful with sweet potatoes; Nguyen Van Moi from southernNinh Thuan province with grapes; Lam Thanh Tran from the Moc Chau Milch CowBreeding Company in northern Son La province; and Vo Dai Nghia from centralQuang Binh province with husbandry and forest plantation in sandhills.

The “Farming Genie” prize was jointly held by the Vietnam Farmers’Association, the Vietnam Television’s News Department, the Rural Nowadaysnewspaper and the Viet News Agency Joint Stock Company./.

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

A solemn ceremony was held on October 20 in the southern city of Arles, Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture of France, to mark the 10th anniversary of the memorial dedicated to Indochinese workers who came to work in the Camargue region during World War II.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
