The fund’s Goodwill Ambassador, actor Xuan Bac, will join thefundraising campaign, which will run from June 1 to July 31, it said. Donationscan be made in the form of cash, non-cash items, or services.
According to the NFVC, the growing complexity of the COVID-19 pandemic isputting enormous pressure on economic development and social welfare in Vietnam.It had had a direct impact on close to 7,000 children in 26 cities andprovinces nationwide as of June 8. The number of children infected or placed inquarantine is likely to continue to rise.
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs’ Department of ChildAffairs has forecast that the number of affected children will surge to around42,000 by the end of the year.

On May 29, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung,who also serves as NFVC vice chairman, announced that the fund will fully coverthe food costs of children with COVID-19 and those having had close contactwith COVID-19 patients and now under mandatory quarantine at concentrated sites,from April 27 to December 31, in response to Children’s Action Month 2021.
The fund also contributed an additional 1 billion VND (43,600 USD) eachto Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and Dien Bien to help the northern provinces fight thepandemic./.
