The agreement came at talksbetween the Politburo member and Vietnam National Assembly ViceChairperson Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Romanian Vice President of Senate,Cristian Dumitrescu during Ngan’s official visit to Rumania fromSeptember 3-7.
Ngan expressed her belief that Romania’sintegration into the European Union would contribute to promoting thecooperation between the two countries as well as between Vietnam and EU.She also took the occasion to call on Romania to support Vietnamduring the process of Free Trade Agreement negotiation between Vietnamand the EU.
After briefing her host of Vietnam’ssocio-economic situation and the Vietnam National Assembly’sperformance, Ngan suggested the two sides continue to share experiencesand enhance the relationship between the two countries’parliamentarians.
For his part, Vice –President of Senate -Cristian Dumitrescu affirmed Romania would do its best to boost tiesbetween Vietnam the EU. He also said Romania has always consideredVietnam as its bridge linking Romania to other Southeast Asiancountries.
During the meeting, the two sides applauded thecontinuous development of the traditional friendship and multi-facetedcooperation over the past 63 years since Vietnam and Romaniaestablished diplomatic ties.
While staying in Romania, NA ViceChairwoman Ngan met with Senate Vice President Cristian Dumitrescu,Chairman of the Committee for Industry and Service Iulian Iancu,Chairman of the Committee for Economic Policy, Reform and PrivatisationMihai Tudose, Chairman of the Committee for Budget, Finance and BankingGheorghe Dragomir, and representatives of the Romania-Vietnam FriendshipParliamentary Group.-VNA
