Hanoi (VNA) – The NationalAssembly Standing Committee concluded its 30th session on January10, having completed all items on the working agenda.
In her closing remarks, NAChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked the Government, NA committees and relevantagencies to study opinions presented during the session regarding the draftrevised law on the execution of criminal judgements, while finalizing threedraft resolutions for issuance.
She noted that the 31st session is slated for February 20 and 21, which is only more than one weekafter the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday. As the time for preparation for thesession is short, the Government and relevant ministries and agencies shouldactively coordinate with the NA Standing Committee to complete necessarypreparation, Ngan said.
Earlier, the NA StandingCommittee approved the adjustment and establishment of a number of administrativeunits in the southern province of Dong Thap, and the northern province of HaiDuong.
The 30th session ofthe NA Standing Committee took place during only one day, during which membersof the committee gave their ideas on a number of issues of the draft revisedLaw on Execution of Criminal Judgments, considered and decided the sending of arepresentative to the national council for judge selection and supervision.-VNA
