Hanoi (VNA) – The 44th session of the 13th National Assembly Standing Committee opened in Hanoi on January 14.
Important issues, including the preparation for the elections of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and the People’s Council for the 2016-2021 tenure, will be put under discussion.
NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the committee will consider the approval of the Resolution on the announcement of the election day for depities to the 14th National Assembly and the People’s Council , as well as the draft Resolution guiding the implementation of the Law on the election of deputies to the NA and People’s Council.
The committee members are expected to discuss the proposed structure, components, and number of candidates to the People’s Council at all levels.
They will also give feedback on a number of draft laws to be submitted to the National Assembly at its 11th sitting, he said.
After the opening ceremony, the NA Standing Committee gave opinions on the revised Law on Signing, Joining and Implementing International Treaties and Law on Information Access.-VNA
