NA Office urged to conduct more reforms

Hanoi (VNA) – Chairwoman of the NationalAssembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has asked the NA Office to carry out more reformsin order to better its performance in providing consultations for thelegislature in all spheres.

Addressing the office’s conference to review its work in 2018 and set forthtasks for 2019 in Hanoi on January 9, the top legislator urged the agency tostep up IT application in its operations.

The 2019 law and ordinance building programme includes law projects regardingthe organisation and apparatus, along with other important and complex organisations,she said, stressing that the office should devote more time to research work inorder to ensure the quality and progress of projects.

Given the difficult tasks it has been set for 2019 towards the completion oftargets for the 2016-2020 period, Ngan called on the legislative body, theoffice, and other NA agencies to make greater efforts in the time ahead.

She applauded the contributions of the office’s staff towards the achievements theNA has recorded in legislation, supervision, and decision-making on vitalnational matters last year.

On this occasion, the chief legislator presented the third class IndependenceOrder to former NA Secretary General and former Vice Chairman of the NA OfficeLe Bo Linh.  

NA Vice Chairpersons Tong Thi Phong and Do Ba Ty also handed over severalorders to other key individuals and collectives. –VNA
