Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) ChairwomanNguyen Thi Kim Ngan has underscored the need for high resolve and breakthroughsolutions to problems mentioned at questions and answer (Q&A) sessions overthe last few days.
In a speech to conclude the Q&A sessions onJune 15, she said the ministers of agriculture and rural development; culture,sports and tourism; health; and planning and investment fielded questions raisedby NA deputies.
Deputy Prime Ministers Trinh Dinh Dung, Vu DucDam and Vuong Dinh Hue, along with the Minister of Industry and Trade, the TransportMinister, the Chairman of the Government’s Committee for Ethnic MinorityAffairs, and the Director General of the Vietnam Social Security also gavefurther explanations, reported on relevant issues and answered deputies’questions.
Chairwoman Ngan said the Q&A sessions tookplace in a democratic, straightforward and constructive atmosphere. NA deputiesshowed their seriousness and sense of responsibility in putting questions toand arguing with the officials.
Meanwhile, the Government members replied to allqueries, clarified many issues, straightforwardly accepted responsibility,suggested solutions, and vowed their determination to make improvements, sheadded.
She also pointed out shortcomings in thesessions and called for stronger efforts to address the mentioned problems andrealise the socio-economic development targets for 2017 and the following years.
The top legislator said the NA StandingCommittee will prepare a draft resolution on Q&A activities to submit tothe NA for approval at the end of the third sitting. The resolution will serveas a basis for the parliament to supervise the officials’ realisation of theirpromises.
She also asked the Government, ministries andsectors to seriously take in deputies’ opinions and carry out solutionseffectively so as to remove shortcomings pointed out in each sphere.-VNA
