Vientiane (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam will closely coordinate with theVietnamese Government and the Lao counterparts to successfully carry out theLao NA House project whose construction began in Vientiane on November 1, saida top legislator.

NA Chairwoman NguyenThi Kim Ngan made the promise while paying a courtesy visit to GeneralSecretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and State President BounnhangVolachith.

Ngan has been in Laosto attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the Lao NA House, which is a gift donatedby the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), State and people to the neighbouringcountry.

She noted with joy the fruitfuldevelopment of the special relationship and comprehensive cooperation betweenthe two countries, especially the success of the meeting between the twoPolitburos in January 2017 and the 39th meeting of the Vietnam-LaosInter-Governmental Committee in February 2017, and the exchange of visits by seniorleaders.

Vietnam is activelypreparing for the upcoming visit by comrade Bounnhang Volachith to attendactivities wrapping up the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017,she said.

The Vietnameselegislature will also join hands with its Lao counterpart to encourage relevantagencies to deploy agreements reached by senior leaders of the two countries andoutcomes of the two aforementioned meetings, while preparing for the nextmeetings of the Politburos and the Inter-Governmental Committee in 2018, thetop legislator said.

The legislatures will alsostep up cooperation and exchange legislative experiences, and team up with concernedagencies to increase supervision over joint projects in order to expand andraise efficiency of cooperation, particularly in economy, trade and investment.

Ngan called on Laos tocreate the best possible conditions for overseas Vietnamese  to work and study in Laos, consider reducingfees for procedures and services, and taxes for Vietnamese, and employ moreVietnamese labourers in Vietnamese-invested or joint projects.

For his part, Volachiththanked Vietnam’s great support to Laos during the country’s past struggle fornational liberation as well as the present cause of national construction anddevelopment.

He spoke highly the valuableassistance of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to Laos in constructingthe Lao NA House, a symbol of the traditional friendship, special solidarityand comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, Governments,legislatures and people.

Later the same day, Ngan and her entourage leftLaos, successfully concluded her visit to the country to attend theground-breaking ceremony of the Lao NA House.-VNA
