National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has suggested the law-making bodies of Vietnam and Laos study measures to deepen the two countries’ political ties and enhance the efficiency of cooperation across sectors.

Hanoi(VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has suggested thelaw-making bodies of Vietnam and Laos study measures to deepen the two countries’political ties and enhance the efficiency of cooperation across sectors.

She made thesuggestion at her meeting with visiting Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulithin Hanoi on October 3.

Ngan congratulated the Lao people and Party on their immense achievements overthe past time, saying these have heightened the role and position of Laos onthe international arena.

She expressed her delight at the growing special relations and comprehensivecooperation between the two countries, especially the successful meeting of thetwo Political Bureaus in 2017, and the good outcomes of the 39th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee and visits by the countries’leaders.

She said she was glad with the outcomes of the talks between the two PMs onOctober 2, which sought to promote the special Vietnam-Laos ties morepractically, especially in trade, investment and transport connectivity.

She urged the two legislatures to work closely with relevant agencies to boostthe supervision over joint programmes and projects, and the exchange of experienceand expertise in law making and the settlement of voters’ concerns.

PM ThonglounSisoulith emphasised that the two countries will continue popularizing thespecial Laos-Vietnam ties among the people, especially among youngsters.

The leaders agreed that the two countries have organized successfully manyactivities celebrating the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2017 andtheir law-making bodies have conducted the exchange of expertise in law making.-VNA
