Hanoi (VNA) – Increasingvisits between defence agencies of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) willhelp bolster bilateral ties, said Le Hien Van, deputy head of the GeneralPolitical Department of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Major General Van made the remarkwhile meeting with Kim Heung-soek, Chief Justice of the high-level court of theRoK Ministry of National Defence’s armed forces, in Hanoi on November 23.

He said the RoK delegation’s visittook place amidst thriving relations between the two countries, adding that delegationexchanges will develop defence links, bringing them on par with bilateral ties.

Echoing this view, Kim highlightedprogress in Vietnam-RoK relations, including in defence.

The countries signed a memorandum ofunderstanding on defence cooperation in 2010 and held a defence strategydialogue at the deputy ministerial level in 2012.

Defence cooperation activities arebeing carried out in a result-oriented manner in conformity with theirstrategic partnership, he added./.
