Hanoi (VNA) - Chairman of the Mongolian Parliament MiyegomboEnkhbold on January 23 wrapped his four-day official visit to Vietnam at theinvitation of Chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Thi KimNgan.

Duringhis stay, Enkhbold held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Thi KimNgan, paid courtesy visits to General Secretary of the Communist Party ofVietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang, and met with PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Thetwo top legislators signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperationbetween the two parliaments, and witnessed the signing of an MoU on cooperationbetween Vietnam’s Hoa Binh province and Tuv province of Mongolia.

Duringthe talks and meetings, the two sides agreed that the bilateral friendship hasbeen consolidated and developed in the past more than 60 years, since thecountries established their diplomatic ties in 1954.

Tomake the relations grow further, they agreed to intensify cooperation inpolitics, security, defence, and effectively implement agreements signed in thefields of diplomacy and security-defence; increase dialogues, information andexperience sharing at all levels; join hands in fighting crimes; enhancepartnership in defence industry, logistics and military medicine; andaccelerate negotiations of agreements on criminal extradition andthe transfer of convicted persons.

Theypledged to pay attention to promoting exports to the respective country’smarket. Mongolia is willing to import Vietnamese farm products, tea, coffee,and aquatic products, and export processed and frozen meat to the SoutheastAsian country.

Vietnamand Mongolia also reached a consensus on maintaining mutual visits and meetingsbetween the two countries’ senior leaders, and effectively coordinating atmultilateral forums, and working closely to supervise the implementation ofagreements signed by the Governments, ministries and sectors of the two countries.-VNA
