Mongolian Parliament seeks closer ties with Vietnam

At his talks with visiting ViceChairman of National Assembly Huynh Ngoc Son on July 1, M. Enkhboldsuggested the two legislatures help with preparations for the 16thmeeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee this year in Mongolia andprovide support for the two business communities.

He also spoke highly of the success of the 132 nd Inter-ParliamentaryUnion Assembly that took place in Hanoi last March which he said raisedVietnam’s stature in the global scene.

Son, who isvisiting Mongolia from July 1-4, called for all-level visits andexperience sharing within multilateral activities and internationalforums to be maintained.

Both sides concurred thatthe two legislatures have nurtured bilateral ties over the past time andthe cooperation agreements signed in December 2010 and March 2015 havecreated a legal framework for them to deepen two-way links.

The deputy speaker accepted his guest’s invitation to visit Vietnam.

In another meeting with the Vietnamese guest, Speaker of the Mongolianparliament Z. Enkhbold expressed hope that Vietnam would backMongolia’s participation in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)forum, its development of ties with ASEAN member states, and bids for aseat in the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2016-2018tenure and to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Councilfor the 2023-2024 term.

During the visit, NA ViceChairman Huynh Ngoc Son is to meet with Secretary General of theNational Security Council Ts Enkhtuvshin and Minister of DefenceTs.Tsolmon.-VNA
