Hanoi (VNA) – The Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Messe Frankfurk Group, one of the world’s leading trade fair, congress and event organisers with their own exhibition grounds, on cooperation in trade promotion.

Under the document, the two sides will promote collaboration in organising events and international trade fairs, as well as in providing the information on markets, products and import-export demands of businesses in Vietnam, and creating favourable conditions for companies in Vietnam to join international fairs effectively.

Messe Frankfurk Group will support the agency in organising four specialised international trade fairs on garment and textile, consumer goods, industrial automation technology, and bicycle industry.

Addressing the signing ceremony, head of the Trade Promotion Agency Vu Ba Phu said that thanks to proper and timely policies of the Government, the Vietnamese economy has seen many positive signs, becoming one of the 20 countries with largest economic scale in 2022.

Phu said that as part of the efforts to strengthen trade promotion activities, last year, the agency organised a number of trade fairs and exhibitions, including the Vietnam Expo 2022 and Vietnam Foodexpo 2022, while joining large-scale events abroad.

He underlined that the signing of the document with Messe Frankfurk Group which operates 28 branches and a network covering more than 180 countries and territories is an important milestone in the organisation of trade promotion events and international trade fairs in Vietnam.

The MoU will help the two sides establish a mechanism for implementing trade promotion activities, creating favourable conditions for businesses in Vietnam to participate in international fairs, supporting Vietnamese businesses to connect with international businesses,  and contributing to bringing products and brands of Vietnamese enterprises closer to international consumers./.
