Ministry of Transport approves Ca Mau city bypass

The Ministry of Transport has approved the construction of a 14km bypass around Ca Mau City on National Highway 1A.

Ca Mau (VNA) - The Ministry of Transport has approved theconstruction of a 14km bypass around Ca Mau city on National Highway 1A.

It will link Ring Road No 3 and the Southern Coastal Corridor to create acomplete transport network in the southern provinces.

The construction is expected to cost the Government more than 1.7 trillion VND (73million USD).

The bypass will be 11m wide with a designed maximum speed of 80km per hour. Onceoperational, it is expected to reduce the load on the highway once operational.

Construction is scheduled to begin this year and be completed in 2022.

The Ministry of Transport’s Project Management Board No 7 has been assigned thetask of doing a feasibility study./.
