The Ministry of Industry and Trade(MoIT) and the Hanoi People’s Committee jointly held a “Consumer RightsDay” on March 13 to raise public awareness on the issue.
Under the theme “Our money, our rights”, Consumers International, whichis the global campaigning voice for consumers, will focus on protectingconsumer rights in the financial sector as financial services aregetting more and more popular, said MoIT Deputy Minister Le Danh Vinh.
Vinh said a draft law on consumer rights protection is about to becompleted for submission to the government this month. The promulgationof the law, which is expected to be approved by the National Assemblyin October, will create a solid legal framework for consumer rightsprotection in Vietnam .
The “Consumer Rights Day” is part of the activities held in Vietnam in response to World Consumer Rights Day 2010./.
