Illustrative image (Source: soyte.hanoi.vn)Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Health discussed the implementation of a planfor IT application in the management of health services and insurance paymentin 2017 with relevant state bodies during an online conference on March 16.
In hisremarks at the event, Deputy Minister of Health Pham Le Tuan said followingrequests by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to accelerate public administrationreforms and improve health service delivery, the ministry has partnered with theVietnam Social Insurance Agency to install an integrated medical and healthinsurance database systems.
The effortis to make health insurance payment and assessment much easier and moreefficient, Tuan noted.
Thoughmedical information databases of hospitals have already been connected to thesystem of social insurance agencies, they have not been updated regularly, hesaid, stressing the importance to speed up the system connection andinformation updates.
The 2017plan for IP applications in management of health service and insurance paymentfocuses on publishing legal documents on related matters, developing afinancial mechanism for operation of the IT system, training staff and improvesupervision works.
Accordingto the plan, all medical establishments at provincial and national levels willhave their database connected to health insurance information and assessmentsystems before June 30 while all district clinics will complete the work beforeAugust 31 this year.-VNA
