Mining Vietnam 2014 returns to Hanoi

This offersan opportunity or local mining businesses and experts to seek partnersand expand cooperation in regional and global markets.

Addressingthe opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le DuongQuang emphasised the important role of the mining industry in thecountry’s socio-economic development. It accounts for 10-11 percent ofVietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) each year.

According tothe Vietnam mineral development strategy to 2020 with a vision to 2030,the industry will be developed with the application of advancedtechnologies and raise the mineral recovery coefficient. Its unitscontinue to upgrade and modernise technologies and mining and processingequipment.

The three-day event witnesses the participation of150 companies from 30 countries and territories, including Austria,China, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland and the UK.

A seminar on Australia’s latest mining technologies and equipment also takes place at Mining Vietnam 2014.

The first Mining Vietnam in 2012 attracted 126 domestic and foreign businesses.-VNA
