Mexican News Agency willing to promote Vietnam’s image

The state-owned Mexican News Agency Notimex is willing to help promote the people and culture of Vietnam to the Latin-American countries, said Notimex’s Director General Alejandro Ramos.

Alejandro Ramos made the statement at a reception for Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Linh Lan on December 17.

Atthe event, he appreciated bilateral cooperation between NOTIMEX and theVietnam News Agency (VNA), vowing to expand their collaboration in thecoming time.

In the short term, Notimex and VNA will produceseveral audiovisual programmes on the Vietnamese gastronomy, culture,tourism and economics in a bid to bring an insight on the country to theMexican and Latin-American people, according to the NOTIMEX DirectorGeneral.

He agreed with the organisation of activities to markthe 40th anniversary of the Mexico-Vietnam diplomatic ties, includingthe “Vietnamese Culture Week” in 2015.

Ambassador Lan expressedher thanks for NOTIMEX’s support for Vietnam, including VNA, indisseminating information on the land and people of Vietnam as well asthe country’s achievements in its renewal process.

She said she hopes that Notimex will continue to assist Vietnam in promoting the country’s image.

VNAand Notimex set up bilateral cooperation in 1998. The two sides signedan agreement on bilateral cooperation for the 2014-2015 period in Junethis year.

Notimex has so far provided two training courses for VNA reporters.-VNA
