The two-day event attracted more than 400 delegates, including 212 dignitaries and followers from 24 cities and provinces.
Addressing the conference, Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Deputy Head of theGovernment Committee for Religious Affairs, affirmed that the Statecontinually implements policies that respect and ensure people’s rightsto religious and belief freedom, as well as encourage progressivereligious activities destined for the benefits of the nation and people.
This year’s conference will review the2008-12 operational period, elect a new Executive Board for the secondtenure and adopt the 2012-16 working plan.
The VMCwas recognised by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs as areligious organisation in September, 2007. It received State recognitionof its legal status in February, 2009.
During itsoperation, the Church’s dignitaries and followers have worked withpeople nationwide to contribute to the cause of national constructionand protection.-VNA
