Meeting marks Vietnam-Finland diplomatic ties

A meeting was held in Hanoi on December 3 to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Finland , and the 96th anniversary of Finland’s Independence Day (December 6, 1917-2013).

ViceChairman of the Vietnam-Finland Friendship Association Pham Ngacexpressed his pleasure at the marked achievements that Finland hasreaped in all fields over the past years.

Inaddition to growing bilateral ties in politics, economics and culture,people-to-people exchanges have been incessantly fostered and furtherdeveloped, Ngac noted.

He said the association andthe Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations have undertaken a varietyof activities aiming at enhancing the friendship and multifacetedcooperation between the two countries.

FinnishAmbassador to Vietnam Kimmo Lahdevirta said the bilateral relationshiphas enjoyed remarkable outcomes in a wide range of fields, particularlyforestry, clean water and environmental sanitation.

He revealed that his country will do its utmost in the time ahead toexpand bilateral affiliation to trade, education-training,science-technology, culture and tourism.

Otheractivities including exhibitions and seminars will be held acrossVietnam with the aim of enhancing business connectivity, mutualunderstanding and establishing a bilateral partnership.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
