Themembers discussed and gave opinions to the progress, results, difficulties andobstacles regarding the investigation, prosecution and trial of cases under thesupervision of the committee.
Theyagreed to complete the investigation, prosecution and trial of 12 cases thatare under the supervision of the committee in 2017.
The permanent members requested authorised agencies to make greater efforts andenhance coordination to address difficulties and speed up the investigation,prosecution and trial of serious cases, focusing on three remainders out of thesix cases mentioned in the notice No. 30-TB/BCDTW issued by the committee.
Theyalso asked relevant agencies to further investigate the case at the PetroVietnam Construction Corporation (PVC), andpursue and extradite Trinh Xuan Thanh to serve the investigation and trial.
Theparticipants agreed to establish eight working teams of the Central SteeringCommittee for Anti-Corruption to inspect and supervise the prosecution, investigation,and trial of complicated and serious corruption and economic cases of publicconcerns in 20 provinces and cities nationwide.
Concludingthe meeting, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong spoke highly of therecent efforts by relevant agencies as well as members of the Central SteeringCommittee for Anti-Corruption, which have brought in remarkable results.
However,there is much work to be done in the time ahead, requiring the closercoordination among authorised agencies, he noted.
At the meeting, the participants also agreed to assign Deputy Prime MinisterTruong Hoa Binh, deputy head of the committee, to participate in directing authorisedagencies to settle a number of serious economic and corruption cases whenrequested.-VNA
