Many flights cancelled due to typhoon Tembin

Vietnam Airlines and several other carriers have cancelled or adjusted the schedule of many flights to and from areas to be affected by typhoon Tembin.

Hanoi,  (VNA) –Vietnam Airlines and several other carriers have cancelled or adjusted the scheduleof many flights to and from areas to be affected by typhoon Tembin.

The national flag carriercancelled all flights from 12:40 to 20:30 on December 25 on the routes betweenHanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc in the southern province of Kien Giang, andbetween Hanoi and the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho. Passengers affected by thecancellation will be arranged to fly on the next day

Meanwhile, the schedule offlights from 15:00 to 23:00 on December 25 will be adjusted according to latestreports about Tembin, and be updated frequently on Vietnam Airlines’ websiteand facebook.

VASCO also cancelled 16 flights betweenHCM City and Con Dao from 8:45 to 15:00 on December 25.

Jetstar Pacific will adjust the scheduleof flights to and from Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCM City and Phu Quoc Islanddepending on the movement of the typhoon.

Low-cost carrier Vietjet Aircancelled some flights on Hanoi-Can Tho, Ha Noi- Phu Quoc, Da Nang-CanTho-Hanoi and HCM City-Phu Quoc routes on December 25.

As consequence of the changes, anumber of domestic flights of the carriers are expected to be delayed.Passengers can get update information on the carriers’ official websites orfacebook, as well as ticket offices.

Tembin hit Mindanao, the secondbiggest island of the Philippines, on December 22, with death toll now havingrisen to 240, according to latest reports.

The typhoon is forecast to landin the coastal area from Ba Ria – Vung Tau to Ca Mau provinces in the evening ofDecember 25.-VNA
