Manufacturing expo to open in HCM City

Vietnamese firms will have the chance to acquire the latest global manufacturing and machine-tool technologies at the country's largest manufacturing solutions event to be held next month in HCM City.

The exhibition would help domestic businesses promotetheir products and build new partnerships to increase theircompetitiveness, organisers said.

The 7th VietnamInternational Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and MetalworkingExhibition (MTA) would be held from July 6 to 9 at the Sai GonExhibition and Convention Centre, Bui Thi Thuc Anh, director of VCCIExhibition Service Ltd Co, one of the organisers, told the media inHCM City on June 22.

The MTA would also be anideal platform for the companies and other visitors to achieve a soundunderstanding of manufacturing in Vietnam , she said.

"These modern technologies and machines will support the developmentof supporting industries as well," she said.

On showwill be the entire technology range across all processes, includingmetal cutting machines, sheet metal machines, testing and measurementsystems, cutting tools, and laser technologies.

William Lim, project director of MTA Vietnam 2010, said more than 330companies - 43 percent more than last year - from 23 countries andterritories, including mainland China, France, Germany, Hong Kong,India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, theUS, and Singapore would showcase their products.

Germany , Singapore , the Republic of Korea , Taiwan , the US, Japan , and Thailand are expected to bring their latestofferings.

There will be a seminar each onengineering maintenance and production waste management on July 7 and 8.

The exhibition will be held by the VCCI incollaboration with Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd./.
