Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia will remain abusiness-friendly nation where all investors and companies will be accordedfair treatment, said Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on June 1.
The PM made the commitment when being asked on what he woulddo to protect the interests of foreign investors at a press conference.
“It doesn’t matter if you are local or foreign, all will betreated the same way. If there are any problems, let us know. This governmentwill attend to it,” he said.
He vowed that any mistakes made by the previous governmentwill be corrected in accordance with signed agreements or contracts.
Recently, the leader announced the cancellation of severalmajor infrastructure projects and is believed to be eyeing further cuts as partof his administration’s austerity drive prompted by the discovery that Malaysiahas over 1 trillion ringgits in liabilities, equivalent to 80.03 percent of thecountry’s GDP.-VNA
