Malaysia to host the 29th SEA Games

The 28th SEA Games wrapped up in Singapore on June 16 with the region’s attention shifted to Malaysia, the host of the 2017 games.

At the closing ceremony, Malaysian Youth and Sports Minister KhairyJamaluddin received the Sea Games Federation flag from Singapore tobecome the host of the next edition.

This will be the six times Malaysia host the biggest biennial event in the region.

Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is also the Chairman of the Sea Games 2017 Organising Committee.

The2017 Games marks a special milestone in the country’s history as itwill take place on the occasion of Malaysia’s 60th anniversary ofindependence.-VNA

Indonesia begins major oil, gas exploration in Sulawesi

Indonesia's state-owned oil company Pertamina, along with foreign partners Sinopec from China and Kuwait’s Kufpec, has signed a contract to explore the Melati oil and gas block, located off the coast of Sulawesi. The block is estimated to contain trillions of cubic feet of gas reserves.
