Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The Malaysian home ministry announced three measures to curb human trafficking and falsifying of passports at the country's main entry points on May 17.

They are promptly updating the record of foreign national entries done manually into the Malaysian Immigration System (MyIMMs); upgrading the capability of the computer system screening foreign nationals; and boosting integrity among immigration personnel.

Deputy Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said the weakness of MyIMMs - the system which supported the main service of the Immigration Department which often broke down - was believed to be among factors which enabled foreigners to easily break through the national entry points at the KL International Airport 1 and 2.

In addition, the ministry was also planning to implement psychological tests on immigration enforcement personnel to evaluate their suitability in being stationed at critical areas, he added.

Earlier, he made a visit to look at the screening procedure for the entry and exit of foreign nationals at Kuala Lumpur Airport 1.-VNA
