Hanoi (VNA) – Malaysia’s police said on September 22 that they arrested three foreigners and one Malaysian suspected of having relations with terrorist groups, including the Islamic State (IS), from August 2 to September 17.

Among them, a 37-year-old Bangladeshi was seized on August 19 for arms trafficking to an international terrorist group. His name was also in the list of Interpol Red Notice.

Another suspect is a 38 year-old Nepalese. He was accused of making forgery, which facilitated terrorists’ travelling.

The third suspect is a Moroccan aged 26, who was believed to be an Islamic State member. He had previously been detained by the Turkish government in an attempt to illegally enter Syria. He later tried to illegally immigrate into Malaysia.

These three suspects were deported to their countries, said Malaysia’s police.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian suspect was arrested for his relations with Mohamad Wanndy Mohamad Jedi, who was believed to mastermind the first IS-related attack in the Southeast Asian nation. He was caught spreading the IS ideology on Facebook.-VNA
