Hanoi (VNA) – A Malaysia Airlinesplane was forced to land in Australia’s Melbourne city after a passenger claimedto have bomb, Malaysian Deputy Minister of Transport Abdul Aziz Kaprawi said onMay 31.
The flight, MH128, was en route fromMelbourne to the capital of Malaysia Kuala Lumpur. It took off at 11.11pm(local time) and landed 30 minutes later.
Deputy Minister Abdul Azix Kaprawisaid one passenger, a Sri Lankan, attempted to enter the cockpit. The passengerseemed to be drunk and claimed he had bomb, which turned out to be fake.
The crew restrained the passenger andhe was then detained by Melbourne police at the airport.
Itwas not a hijacking case and the flight arrived safely, the Malaysian officialsaid.-VNA
