HCM City (VNA) – The Ministry ofPublic Security, in coordination with the Border Guards and the GeneralDepartment of Vietnam Customs, broke a major drug trafficking ring on March 20,seizing 300kg of drugs.
At about 13:35 on the day, police simultaneouslyraided five suspicious drug storage locations in Ho Chi Minh City and two othersin the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong.
The police held in custody 11 people, includingeight Chinese nationals, and seized 300kg of drugs.
According to the investigation agency, the drugswere illegally transported from Laos via Bo Y border gate to HCM City for sale.
The Ministry of Public Security is continuouslycoordinating with relevant departments and police of HCM City, Dak Nong, TayNinh and Binh Duong provinces to expand the investigation.-VNA
