Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – The Luxembourg Government has pledged 2million EUR in non-refundable aid to support the central province of ThuaThien-Hue’s climate change response project through the Global ClimatePartnership Fund.
The2.3 million EUR project will be carried out in 30 months in 11 communes inQuang Dien district and nine communes in Phu Vang district. The remaining 0.3million EUR comes from local corresponding budget.
The project aims to enhance local capacity to respond to climate change.
The first component of the project, called “capacity”, focuses on raisingpublic awareness on climate change response. Infrastructure facilities to copewith climate change in the targeted areas will be set up in the secondcomponent while management measures will be promoted in the third component topreserve natural resources and develop markets for organically-cultivatedproducts, a new and sustainable sector for the region.-VNA
